The neurosurgical hospital experience extends far beyond the operating room. Neurosurgical care begins long before surgery, on admission. Tests are done and orders written to insure that the patient is prepared and appropriate for surgery. The flow of the patient through the various levels of neurosurgical post-op care is characteristic for many (but not all) procedures.
