Pain

 

An sensation of discomfort or hurt in one part of the body due to bodily injury or disease (physical), or nervous system dysfunction (functional).  

Physical pain

Crushing, tearing, and penetrating are some of the injuries to soft and bone tissue that can result in pain.

Functional pain 

Sensation of pain in the absence of a physical cause -- "it's in your head".
