Taking Our Virtual Office Tour you will:
Meet our staff
Learn what to expect from a neurosurgery consultation
Learn the process of scheduling surgery
When you arrive for your scheduled appointment, please sign in at the front desk. Your insurance information, office co-pay, health forms, and reports will be collected at this time. Please remember to bring films with you that are pertinent to your consultation. Our doctors prefer to see the actual film AND the radiologist's report. Please collect these in advance and bring both items to the office to maximize your consultation.
-
Anna will assist you in the check in process. Then have a seat in our comfortable waiting room.
-
You will be escorted into the office for your consultation with a physician. We advise that you write down your questions ahead of time for your consultation, as it is best to seek answers to these questions at that time. This is Jacqueline, our medical assistant, shown here organizing films for a consultation.
A registered nurse, physician asistant, or nurse practitioner may accompany your doctor and assist in your treatment plan.
The physician will discuss your history and treatment plan. He will render a medical opinion and provide you with a treatment plan. These recommendations will include operative and non-operative treatments when possible. This is Dr. Liker meeting with a patient.
-
If your treatment plan includes surgery, you will then meet with one of our two surgery scheduler, Ana or Kathy. They will discuss insurance coverage, and necessary preparation for surgery. They will contact your health plan for pre-certification or authorization. Ana or Kathy will discuss the appropriate course for your surgery and coordinate with you your schedule and the doctor's operative schedule. All cases are performed at the USC University Hospital, a new 329 bed research and teaching facility staffed by the Keck School of Medicine. It was named as one of "America's Best Hospitals" in U.S. News and World Report in 2005, and rated in the top 50 hospitals in the country for neurosurgery in the Dallas Business Wire in August 2005.
-
Clinic appointments are scheduled with our patient coordinators, Rachael Perez and Sandra Vasquez. They will assist with any tests ordered by your doctor. Contact them for clinic appointments, or questions pertaining to scheduling or the authorizing of tests.
-
Each physician works with licensed assistant. Please contact the R.N., physician assistant or nurse practitioner, for medical questions, such as those related to medications, a deterioration in your health status, or any concern regarding your incision.
