CyberKnife
The most sophisticated of the non-invasive treatments for neurosurgical disorders is stereotactic radiosurgery.  This technology allows large doses of radiation to be given to lesions such tumors and arteriovenous malformations.  Aiming devices such as Linac, Gamma Knife, and Cyberknife (all of which are available at USC) provide pinpoint accuracy in aiming the beam so as to maximize the dose to the target and minimize any spread of radiation to the normal tissue (brain, nerves, and spinal cord).
